Late Night Breakfast: MY COUSIN VINNY + Grits
August 25 @ 9:15 pm
Each ticket includes a bowl of slow-cooked grits!
All right, you Brooklynites. Put down that slice of pizza and listen up. There’s still no question the world revolves around us–the best film, the best food, the best public transp–eh, you get what we mean. But if MY COUSIN VINNY taught us anything, it’s that there are still a few things we could learn from our weird in-bred cousin down south. Namely, that grits exist and should be a breakfast staple for every New Yorker. And as any good southerner knows, they’re best enjoyed with lots of butter and late at night after you’ve had a few drinks.
Two New Yorkers are accused of murder in rural Alabama while on their way back to college, and their cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci)–an inexperienced, loudmouthed lawyer not accustomed to Southern rules and manners–comes in to defend them.
Dir. Jonathan Lynn. 1992. 120 min.
