Midnights: PURPLE RAIN Sing-Along!
June 24 @ 11:55 pm
We are gathered here together to SING through this thing called “life” by commemorating one of America’s best ever pop artists with a special SING-ALONG screening of Purple Rain! We absolutely encourage that you dress in Purple. You can also dress as Prince, Sheila E., Morris Day, wear a Raspberry Beret, or bring your purple motorcycle (provided you leave it parked outside).
We’re gonna sing along to “Let’s Go Crazy,” The Time’s “Jungle Love”, “Sex Shooter,” “When Doves Cry,” “Darling Nikki,” “I Would Die 4 U,” and of course…”Purple Rain.”
Help us celebrate the life of America’s grooviest 5’2” Wisconsinite by singing some of his greatest hits on June 24!
A victim of his own anger, the Kid (Prince) is a Minneapolis musician on the rise with his band, the Revolution, escaping a tumultuous home life through music. While trying to avoid making the same mistakes as his truculent father (Clarence Williams III), the Kid navigates the club scene and a rocky relationship with a captivating singer, Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero). But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), looks to steal the Kid’s spotlight — and his girl.
